It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her debut and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

If this latest epic knock topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Many contend the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this performance was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a challenging time because it appeared I lacked timing completely," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature kick in and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was in motion.

"A chance to go out there and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself that way, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was removed her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this victory succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she later admitted those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.
